Have You Thanked a Teacher Today?

As we near the end of 2021, the SJLES PTA encourages you to share words of appreciation and gratitude with your students’ teachers to thank them for a job well-done.

In these unprecedented times, so many teachers and staff are working hard to ensure our Jaguars have a successful year. It’s the perfect time to brighten their day with an email or card letting them know what their work means to your family.

PTA Holiday Gift Drive

SJLES PTA will be hosting a holiday gift drive, supporting the Homewood Center’s Annual Treasure Sale. It is an event that allows Homewood students to “purchase” gifts for their loved ones. See the accompanied flyer for more information.

Donations can be made two ways: 1) Shop Homewood’s Amazon wish list at https://tinyurl.com/77PVPUXK and Amazon will ship your donation directly to Homewood, OR 2) Have your student drop off new, unwrapped items in the marked bin located by the SJLES front office. Items will be accepted until next Wednesday, December 15, 2021.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated and will help keep the holiday season bright for the children and families in need in our community! For more information or questions, please contact Linda Ferguson at linda.f.ferguson@gmail.com

Opinions Welcome: Please Take This Short Survey

Please take this short survey and let us know how we’re doing! What did you think of the PTA’s new fall events? What would you like to see more of this spring? How do you feel about the possibility of indoor events? Your feedback will help us plan ahead for the rest of the year. You are also welcome to send comments, questions, or feedback at any time to SJLES.PTAmail@gmail.com.

There’s Still Time to Join the PTA!

With no obligation to volunteer, joining the PTA simply helps to support events and enrichment activities for all SJLES students.

Click here to join via MemberHub. Please know that ALL SJLES students and families are invited to “PTA-sponsored events,” whether or not you have joined the PTA! Let’s make 2021-2022 the best school year yet for our Jaguars!

Turkey Trot

You’re Invited to the Annual Turkey Trot Fun Run/Walk ! Come on down to the track at Mt. Hebron High School on Sunday November 14th at 10 a.m. Enjoy snacks, drinks, and a visit from SJLES mascot Harry Spotter! Bring the whole family. (Rain date: 11/21)

Head Count and Waiver

Please help us get an accurate headcount and sign your waiver ahead of time by filling out this survey. An RSVP is not needed, but this will help us determine the number of snacks and get everyone on the field faster.
